Very rare eight medal bar with miniatures and ribbon bars. This man had a career that stretched from at least 1898 to at least 1939.Ranking as Pte. and GNR with 40 years of service is remarkable. I suspect stripes came and went like rainbows! Forty years in the army as a Pte would explain why there is not a LS and GC medal! The rest is unresearched.
Named to E. McDONALD as follows:
India 1895 bars Punjab Frontier 1897-98 and Tirah 1897-98 6066 Pte. E. McDONALD 1St. R. SCOTS FUS.
QSA 5 BARS Tansvaal, Relief of Ladysmith, Orange Free State,Tugela Heights, and Cape Colony, named 6066 Pte. E. McDonald2Nd. R. SCOTS FUS.
KSA 1901-1902 same.
