British Pattern 1897 Infantry Officer Sword W/ Scabbard - WWI George V English:

World War I-era British Pattern 1897 Infantry Officer sword and field service scabbard. Sword in nice shape and all parts rock solid. Unsharpend blade does have some patina/discoloration. Has "GvR" royal cypher on blade and guard, as well as Star of Damascus and brass "Proved" slug in ricasso. Maker /retailer name not visible on obverse of ricasso. Shagreen nearly all intact; one gripwire loop missing near ferrule. Scabbard shows wear, especially near drag. Sword weighs 1 lb 13 ozs; blade length 32.5 inches.
