Bryan,
Count the number of times you wrote the word "fake" in your last post and do yourself a favor: forget about this guy. Dolf, Out-of-center backs on OG happened, rarely, but happened nevertheless. Have a look on the Mondvor site, there is a really nice one. Marc |

Dolf,
Sorry, you are right. A spelling error on my part. Read what Marc wrote. I agree completely. They look doctored at best. Rusty.

Rusty, Marc,
Thanks a lot both of you. I'll check the Mondvor site for those out of center reverses on OG. I guess I already learned something new (to me at least :) ) today. Best, Dolf |

I know Marc that you are right, but I'm just trying to figure out what are the red flags in those groups. There are 3 reasons why I'm posting these groups here on the forum. First is that I need help to spot the red flags on such groups, second is to get the people aware on the site of those fakes and third is to help me when I'll be alone without internet in front of those fakes in order to know how to be careful with them.
I know that I have a lot to learn, before being able to buy alone respectable groups like these. I'm still not familiar with all the tricks to fool the collectors like us. Some are easy to spot, others are not so. Quote:

Bryan,
We are all here to learn! Trust me! :) I'm sure Alexei or any other expert will tell you that. There's a famous quote that one of my old college professor used to say: "The only wrong question is the one you don't ask!" :p Rusty.

Hi,
i recommend to stay away from this groups what you posted. A L L of this groups are either with new entries in order books or with modified serial numbers in orders. Order of red banner screwback for example is made from type 3 var 2 piece! I saw this site some weeks ago, somehow i found a link when i was wisiting our '' famous favoured auction site ''. This is just unbeliveable stupid how someone can do something like this, erasing original snr from orders, adding new ones... for example OGPW 1 class, Red Star or Glory III...even that they are common pieces someone got this orders for some brave act in the war... but now some idiot is erasing numbers just to get easy money. Stay away and we all stay away and our messages to other collectors is our only weapon against this kind of stupidity! Last edited by Lauri; 10-24-2005 at 02:08 PM. |
