1864 Prussian Artillery Gunner Short Sword Unmarked:

These short sword were worn off the back of the belt, so that the gunner could still crouch down and yet have an effective light edged weapon ready to hand. The feint etching of this quite rare version can still be seen on the 48 cm blade, which is in good condition and firm in the hilt. The brass hilt and original scabbard are equally good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
