WWII Chinese Nationalist KMT Kuomintang sword. I am the son of the original owner, a US Navy WWII veteran who acquired it in Japan or Hong Kong in 1945-1946 prior to sailing back to the US. His ship was in Tokyo harbor for the signing of the Japanese surrender. The sword has remained with my family since its acquisition and was never altered or restored, and is being sold as is. I am not an expert on swords or militaria so please check the photographs carefully. To my knowledge and research, the sword is an original and authentic piece that was made in China during the period of WWII (1939-45). The handle shows two Chinese Nationalist flags. The blade is not especially sharp and may have been a dress, officer’s sword. There is a small patch of rust on the blade from the scabbard. The scabbard is completely intact with no holes or rips but there is a small rivet missing as seen in the photograph. Shipping to continental US address of purchaser only; NO INTERNATIONAL SALES.
