This is salty and very deadly looking WWII GI theater made combat knife that is made from the blade of a German Waffen elite troops chained dagger. The knife is very well made and was clearly carried in combat and shows much use. I cannot imagine what the Germans soldiers would have done to the GI caught carrying this knife, quite likely they would have shoved it somewhere unpleasant. The knife blade is unmarked on the back to maker and this is correct for a SS chained M1936 dagger as they do not have maker marks on the blades for the most part. The knife is with the original leather sheath that is a bit dry and securing strap is fragile and slightly shrunken so that it will not close and it is to fragile to force.
