GERMAN WW2 DD M35 HELMET:
$740.00
Interesting example of an original German WW2 helmet. This was apparently an early Army issue with double decals that were apparently painted over with an olive green finish at some point which was removed to reveal the faint remains of an Army eagle decal on the left side and national colors on the other. The outer shell has scrapes and some scratches to the finish but no significant dings or dents. Inner shell has the same green finish in VG condition. Clear markings for batch number on center rear flange amd ET 62 on right ubbwe flange. Liner has the early aluminum band and the leather is worn, dry but completely intact. There is a name inked into the leather along with large stylized initials...likely previous owners Interestingly enough the inside of the leather is marked with an inkmarked "B C" and faded "55." This actually a quite remarkable helmet which appears to be an early issue M35 that likely didn't see much field service in the war and is in VG+ condition as a result. Original double decals (even if faded and worn like this one) are increasingly rare. Chinstrap has an RBNr marking on the tip with alloy hardware and is clearly a later addition. Pretty nice specimen. Domestic SH&I will be $25.00
