Offered is a World War Two United States Army issue M1 Helmet that is 27th Infantry Division painted tribute helmet. This beauty has the painted insignia of the 27th Infantry Division, which remains overwhelmingly crisp and present. I know exactly where this helmet has been for the better part of the last 3 to 4 decades, so I am certain that this was not a modern paint job. As you probably already know if you are interested in this listing, the 27th saw significant Pacific Theater action, including in Saipan and Okinawa. The 27th has 3 Medal of Honor winners…pretty rarified air. The helmet bears the name Cunningham on the inside of the pot which could prove interesting for research. This helmet is offered as pictured and would be a great addition to a collection and a beautiful display piece.
