I am selling my copy of the extremely rare and sought after set of Soviet Military History books. This is the first edition set of 8 volumes of the "Soviet Military Enclclopedia" published between 1976 and 1980. These books are considered amoung the most authoritative and historically accurate military history books ever published in the Soviet Union as they were not intended to be read by regular citizens. The western academic book "Soviet Military Doctrine and Western Policies," editied by Gregory Flynn states that these books are the "most authoritive general Soviet military source," and that they contain much information that was editied or removed from general Soviet books. Soviet Marshall and Minister of Defense Andrei Grechko and later Marshall Nikolai Ogarkov lead this project.
Each volume is hard back and has about 650 pages. There are numerous maps (some are pull-out) and color photograph inserts. If you can find single volumes of this set, they sell for about $200 per volume. You will almost never find a complete set for sale.
