Trade Union of the USSR Prize
I am sure that I saw somewhere on the forum pictures of this medal and document, but I can't find them.

And now for questions:
1. How many awarded each year? 2. When it was established? 3. Was there a cash prize also? Thanks.

Re: Trade Union of the USSR Prize
I have never handled these medals, but could we possibly get some system here:
These are medals for achievements within a particular trade union - does anyone know how trade unions became associated with the name printed on the certificate, I mean The Remium Named After So-and-So? A simple search on 'премия советских профсоюзов' seems to be useless. I understand that heavy-machinery and military-related trade unions were more important than, say, a union of window clearners, but those were the ones least likely to issue their premium medals, I guess. Does anyone else here get the impression that the collectors are being manipulated into acquiring very iffy objects by someone with a powerful press? I am in a difficult mood today. Sergei |
