Hi Marc,
Sorry no info on that one, I've been keeping a look out for info on it though. Not GDR that seems fairly certain. From the initials it seems Latvian, although it's strange that the P isn't on the top ray of the star. Regards Eddie.

Industrial Cooperative
I believe this is for the Winner of a Socialist Competition of an Industrial Cooperative, and is a close relative of the badge in this post:

Thanks very much Keith,
I was hoping you would have a look because of your interest in Baltic state items ![]() What is your opinion on Marcs Badge, any ideas? Best regards Eddie.

Marc's badge
Eddie,
Marc's badge is interesting, LPSR stands for Latvian SSR in the Latvian language, so I am pretty sure that this is Latvian. I would guess from the symbols that this is either from the Soviet period in Eastern Latvia from 1918-1920 or the first complete Soviet period in Latvia from 1940-1941. Mostly likely this is not an award, but who knows, perhaps it is some high level rare decoration. I have seen similar, but not the exact same thing, for Estonia from 1940-41. Keith |

Thanks Keith, I thought that it most likely was from the Baltic states, but don't know much about them. I tend to think that is relates to the immediate post-revooution period, but that is just a gut feeling.
