Kumys Alka Pendant (Silver Pendant)

I've seen a few of these around Taskent, but they never have the ribbon with them that shows up in Christophe's scans of the awards article. Here's one I have in my pile of stuff.

Re: Kumys Alka Pendant (Silver Pendant)

Nice one, Brian.
In the article I posted, they show the ribbon very close to the order, and with a closer look at it, the pendant seems to be put on the ribbon, for the photo only.
Now, on which occasion is this ribbon used ? For ribbon bars ?

Cheers.

Ch.

Re: Kumys Alka Pendant (Silver Pendant)

Altyn Alka Pendant (Golden Pendant) and Kumys Alka Pendant (Silver Pendant)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Instituted in 1993.

The Golden Pendant is awarded to the mothers that have given birth and raised ten or more children.
The Silver Pendant to mothers that have given birth and raised eight or nine children.

Seems that the award critaria has changed for this award, above how it was and below how it will be

Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan:

“ In addition, women who gave birth to and brought up 7 or more children will be given the “Altyn alka” pendant and “kumys Alka” for women who gave birth to and raised 6 children........"

And increased payment

From the year 2006, low income households should begin receiving monthly benefits for children under 18. Special benefits for mothers living together with four or more underage children and for mothers recipients of the pendants “Altyn Alka”, “Kumys Alka” or “Maternal Glory” of 1st or 2nd degree will be increased to 4,000 tenge
