Albanian Submarine Insignia

Does anyone know where I could obtain an original Albanian Submarine Insignia (according to Thornton and Prichard Albania has at least a cloth badge with a grey submarine on a dark blue wool back issued in the early 1990s)? Was there any other badges issued back in the 1960's? Was there a Commanders badge similar to the Soviet Commanders badge?

Hi and welcome JS,

Very little is known about the Albanian Navy Submarine Insignia, which I suppose is understandable, because they originaly only had four Whiskey type Submarines aquired from the Soviets in the 60's.
This you have probably seen already from Sub-Insignia:
Submariners uniforms were reportedly unique. A patch showing the silhouette of a submarine (silver/white on a blue/black background) has been seen and reproduced. Conflicting reports indicate the real version (if there is a real version) has gold vice the silver embroidered thread that is most often seen.
So as things stand I would imagine finding "original" Insignia very difficult.
The image shows the patch that is currently known, however if that is original or not remains to be seen.

Thanks Eddie,
I had seen the discription and am hoping someone may have one or know of where I may procure one. I have collected submarine insignia and am now trying to find originals of the really hard/rare ones. My hope is to research and post a website that will complement and expand upon the Sub-Insignia site.

This reminds me of the same situation as with the North Korean Sub-Insignia, of course if anything interesting turns up I'll post it here.
