The badge for autonomous Abkhazia (green and white stripes) is a throwback to the badge/flag of the mountain republic. The seven stars represent the seven peoples united under the flag/hand . . . . Depicted. (Check out FOTW for flag information.) The badges I have are pinback in bronze or brass and gilt.
The legend is difficult to read in the photo but says Abkhazia Parliament, except in Abkhazi the name of the republic is "APSNYa" (bi = Ya for the last letter). A. |
