Refused to be separated? Lenin, 285,400

There has been a match with the database!

The following information submitted has been matched to information already stored in the Serial Numbers Database 2.0:

Lenin, 285,400

If you were searching for the above, congratulations! please contact the administrator if you wish to exchange email with the original poster.

If you own the above, and were trying to submit an entry to the database, someone obviously has done this before you. In this case, please contact the administrator so that we can appropriately update the information.

This is GREAT! A couple of days ago I visited a guy who had a lot of Soviet awards for sale. I bought several of them, including this Order of Lenin. Today, I was coincidentally going through the documents of one of my researched awards again and I noticed that this Order of Lenin was on the Award Record Card! When those research results arrived I submitted all the awards on the Award Record Card to the SND, so that's why there has been a match.

They both came from the same seller, so I think that explains the coincidence...

So, now these two awards have been promoted from 'singles' to 'a broken group'.

Auke,

This is bizarre, please tell me if I'm understanding correctly..you submitted the Lenin award as being wanted, then some time later you purchased the award without realizing you had posted as "wanted". Then you added the purchased award to the database and when it "hit" you realized you posted it earlier?

This gets classified under "wow..what are the chances of that happening"?

That's correct. I have entered quite a few awards with the 'wanted' tag in the SND. I bought the Lenin last week not knowing it was awarded to a guy I already had an award from. I didn't realize this until today when I was going through some of my research results and I noticed the serial number of the Lenin on the Award Record Card; it looked familiar. I compared it with the Lenin I bought and it was the same. I did remember I had entered it in the SND with the 'wanted' tag, I just submitted it to see if it triggered a 'match' (as I was the one who had also submitted it as 'wanted').

I hope this story makes sense, English is not my native language.

I will put this in a new topic as this story isn't over yet.
