There is a web side devoted to screw-back orders. There are some excellent scans and variations of GPW, Red star and Nevsky.

I agree with Al. Historical Research is most certainly a commercial site. I think you need to take another look at John's (his screen name) website. Though he has a section entitled "Awards for Sale" they are in fact not for sale but available for trading. I have spoken with John about this, and he will rename that portion of his site so as to accurately reflect its non-commercial nature. The site is a good one, and brings to the forum a lot of interesting details about life and collecting in Moldova. For example, he has posted photos of this year's May 9 festivities, and his membership card in the Moldovan collectioneers club...

Russian Battlefield Web site


It is one of the best sites I have seen dealing with the Great Patriotic War. My favorite section deals with the interviews of Soviet soldiers. They have a lot of them translated into English, but if you can read Russian there is about 10 times the information. In addition they post field manuals (in Russian and in English), equipment profiles and other valuable information. This site is how I found out the HSU Dmitri Loza had died.

I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
