The Eastern Front In Photographs 1941-1945

by John and Ljubica Erickson.
Lotsa photos and very little prose (that's a good thing)
Not much in the way of ODMs.
A bit of a theme dealing with Russian women in the Soviet armed forces.
I hope the authors don't mind me stealing images from this book to show here:

This photo in particular I was interested in. Originally (in the book) it was reversed and I have corrected it here. It shows 5 pleasent faced, smiling and attractive Russian young ladies. Very Nice....
It also shows all with OG3s, one with a OG2 and one with an ORB. Not to mention four rifles with telescopic sights! While this might be a propaganda photo with local hotties in Army uniforms I feel less and less secure as I surf the 'net looking for Russian brides....(j/k)

Well, the first one from the left does not look bad at all.. she just needed some excercise (like running away more often from german bullets and so on) and you could have a nice "original wartime vintage soviet memorabilia bride".

Yes, mine is paperback.
I bought it at a Chapters bookstore (in Ottawa, Canada) around 1 year ago. Very interesting photos and some less known (to me at least) small stories of the WWII involving Soviet Union and Germany.

I have a lot of text-only books (or with very limited photography) but this one is really good when you just want to be entertained without having to read and concentrate too much. Just look at the photos!
