Smile Barbarossa

While continueing my research for my new book I found this book at a library book sale for $1.50. It had been withdrawn.

Barbarossa The Russian-German Conflict 1941-45
By Alan Clark
Copyright © 1965 By Alan Clark
Published by William Morrow and Company, New York
522 pages
B/W photos and maps

This book is great. It breaks down the entire invasion of the Soviet Union by Germany without the information overload of some books I've struggled through. Even so, it has detailed information about each stage of the operation. It's a good book that I can recommend to anyone who wants to understand the war in Russia.

Re: Barbarossa

Hi Doc,

I have also read this book - I came across a modern paperback edition a while ago. It was a good read.

Not sure if you have seen this one. I am presently reading "Absolute War: Soviet Russia in the Second World War" - about 200 pages into the 700. It is the result of 10 years research by the author and relatively succinctly covers the whole of the GPW. So far it seems to be a good book to add to a GPW library.
