For the time and for western readers, it was an excellent reference for the uniforms. For the colours, its better than the ospreys of the eighties. Now its more a cold war document.

Price is really up to you. I personally would not put more that $5 in it.

I am a stubborn guy
I have bought it anyway.
The book isn't bad - some of the photographs are realy interesting (like the one where there is an officer in gimnastiorka and soldiers in new-style field unifiorms). Also it shows some of the symbols that are usualy hard to find on a good quality pictures.

The colours don't look better than e.g. in "Inside the Soviet Army Today", altough they are a bit more informative. The problem is that, looking at the one about polish army I see some obvious mistakes - e.g. there was no such thing as polish naval infantry at that ime and the units that were sometimes refered to as such, wore in fact blue berrets (like soviet VDV).

But otherwise, the book isn't that bad.

Hello Al-Muell,
I’m agree with you, this man is obviously not a member of the famous 7th coastal brigade, but with his dark blue beret and shoulderboards, he quite fairly depicts an ordinary petty officer of the Polish Navy in field uniform. It's the problem when you have a limited access to information, you found a picture of navy personel in camouflage uniform and you guess that is naval infantry.
