Jussi-Pekka,
I have this book. It is a very thorough one, nicely illustrated, and the only one covering this topic. Each type and variation is detailed, including a rarity rating. Prices are given in ranges. Once again, major drawback: price. Marc |

Books on Deputy Badges
Under Badges - People's Deputy - Post #6, I describe the three best books on Deputy Badges. This most recent is the best of the three by a mile/kilometer+. One flaw besides price is lack of reverse images. But that would have increased the price.
Second thing is purposeful blanks where badges are known to be missing. But sometimes there might be more than one missing. Check out Badges - political - Azerbaijan for multiple CEC badge reverses. A third issue for additional research is some of the dating of mint marks, which appear to have changed invididually by republic based on use of existing stock of badges rather than accross the board contemporaneously. But Unlike the other two books listed, there are "no on the face" immediate errors. It would take more research than Comrade Mekhonoshin has undertaken to present his book, for anyone to dispute it. Best out there, a must have if you do Deputy Badges. |

I agree, it's a shame they don't have pictures of the reverse. To me the back of the badge/order/medals often tells more than the front.
