thank you alfred and lapa. i would wish to obtain a copy of this excellent book. where can i find one please, if you know? i have had virtually all of the high orders including the stalin prize medal for the best general at the generals school [unfortunately stolen by an inside worker.] from soviet emigres many of them previously oppressed it was so easy to purchase these medals in 1991 and i paid top dollar now i want to identify the books to the medals and leave them to a family member

i understand that there is a first class book written in english by an israeli which has the list of those who received the 5 orders of the red banner which i have in my vaults.any ideas how to obtain a copy please

How about posting some pictures of these orders and documents, we most likely may be able to help you.

As to the Shishov/Muzalevsky books, they are extremely difficult to find today, and very expensive (last one I saw on offer was 250 euro!!!).

In the Shishkov / Muzalevsky book is no list with recipants of 5 Order of Red Banner. There are around 376 recipants.
There is only a list of persons who received 6 and 7 Red Banner.

If you have a group with Red Banner 1 to 5, try to research the Order by serial number in the russian archives. You can get the name, dates and the citation for the awards.
Here in the forum are at least two persons who can research military awards
by serial number.
