I'm not creating a ribbon bar. I'm assembling a medal bar for a uniform, but using the ribbons of the medals to show which ones I am going to put on it.

As for the medals, Is this OK, or is there anything else to change?
Also, what uniform would be appropriate for these medals?

Have a look at this uniform... I spend some time to find the appropriate medals for dispaly.

This is a 2nd rank CPT uniform and from the 80's, but it can help...

I think it is nice! A good tip is to buy a manequin figure for photo and display, it really enhances the appearance!

The only thing that come to mind would be the graduation badge; for how long time were badges with the academy name shield used? I have read somewhere that the nameshields were not commonly used after a certain year.

This badge is from the Sumbarine Academy but I have really no idea if it is correct for that period...
Any idea???

Re: Appropriate Medals for Display

Isn't the sleeve lace not supposed to go all the way around? Nevertheless, still a fantastic tunic though.

With the risk of entering deep water, I would say the badge appropriate for this uniform should be without the shield as this officer graduated the academy in the 1980s.

I think this shield issue was discussed somewhere in a thread on graduation badges.

Not sure - I have had uniforms where the sleeve laces has gone all around, but also where they are from seam to seam.

I believe that it depends on the manufacturer.

I found this picture of a RF admiral, with approximately the same medals than on the uniform I have, and the badge is with a shield...
