Medal Suspensions
Does it matter if medal suspension has been replaced with a new one? I'm seeking four (Brass or Alu) SINGULAR suspensions for medals mounted as a group, which I've found don't actually belong together!
Know anyone selling these? Will it cost much? |

Whether it "matters" or not depends on personal choice. Some people prefer an older medal with perfect ribbon, which usually means aluminum. Others prefer an original, rattier ribbon on an older suspension. Send me a PM for what you want. I have some multiple suspensions and individuals - mostly aluminum. |

Warsaw,
Give me a howler if Paul can't help. I'll see what I can dig up. Marc |

Aluminum suspensions...
I might also be able to help. I have spare one-piece "single" aluminum suspensions (and a couple spare multiples - some with ribbons still on them). I have a very hard time finding old two-piece steel and brass suspensions though. One-piece brass are a bit easier to find, but getting harder. Same with two-piece aluminums for 60's-80's era orders.
Ribbons are tougher, but Marc very kindly helped me out a while back on that. I recommend his efficiency and honesty and know-how on the subject. Where I am ribbons really cannot be found new. I was once lucky enough to find some old ones for several different awards, but they were very short. It takes a very experienced and patient hand with ribbons that short, and even then I don't know how they were used! I'm pretty good at it, and they frustrate me. In answer to your last question, the aluminum suspensions should be pretty cheap. No sticker shock there. Last edited by Kirchgoens; 12-12-2007 at 09:25 AM. |

I have some brass and 2-piece steel ones if someone is interested. I also have aluminium ones.
