Christophe,

According to the statutes of this medal, there is no multiple awarding.

Although your general seems to be a heavyweight, how does the ribbon bar look to you? For whatever reason, I don't overly like it, even though I can't pinpoint anything specific.

Hi Marc,

That's why I have taken the pic and posted it...

I have not the name of this General, even if I could find it. What is sure is that he was a "real" General, participating to the MAKS Airshow in Zhukovsky, amongts other officials. Not a fantasy guy, in all sesn of the word... I have taken the pic at a moment we were relaxing, under a temperature of 35°C...
Again, this is a "real" general, with a "real" uniform...

The ribbon bar looked OK, sewn (attached ?) to the jacket. He apparently likes the un-official medals... The HSU is a wearer copy, with the back blank and "frosted". I have taken it in hands...

Cheers.

Ch.

Wow, that was an odd bar. Seems he like to mix Soviet, Russian and other awards using logics I guess only himself understand.

If that uniform/bar had been for sale, I would have dismissed it as a fantasy bar - and many with me I think.

Maybe one was awarded by the Soviet Union and the second by the Russian Federation????

But this medal is no more awarded by the Russian Federation (even in the transitional period).
My guess is that it could have been awarded for joint military maneuvers (Warsaw Pact) and that our man deserved it in two different occasions (two maneuvers)...

A post-Soviet Russian "Za zaslugi pered otechestvom" order. Difficult to translate, but approximately "For Achievements on Behalf of the Motherland". The swords indicate a military version - civilian version is just a red ribbon.

Paul,

How does "For service to the Motherland" sound?
