Just info - Romanian Medals for Cosmonuts
ROMANIAN MEDALS PRESENTED TO RUSSIAN COSMONAUTS (PRAVDA Ru)
Russian cosmonauts Vladimir Kovalenok and Leonid Popov on Tuesday were presented memorable medals in Bucharest on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the space flight by the first Romanian citizen. In May 1981, together with Viktor Savinykh, they directed and coordinated the work on the orbital complex Salyut-6 - Soyuz-T-4, where captain Dumitru Prunariu, now general, spent a week conducting scientific experiments. The medals were also presented to Bulgarian and American astronauts who had arrived in Bucharest to attend the celebrations. Dumitru Prunariu, who heads the Romanian Space Agency, intends to conclude an agreement this summer with the Russian side on developing bilateral cooperation. Vladimir Kovalenok, the head of the Russian Space Association, will be the Russian partner who will conduct negotiations with the Romanian side. Eddie
