Battle damaged medal?
Hello,
what could be the reason of the damage to the Stalingrad medal. The damage must be caused by something with very high energie. The damage on the reverse left signs on avers. A bullet perhaps? or a shiver of an artillery shell? best regards and thanks Andreas |

It is one's personal choice, however, as for myself, all damaged awards to me are battleworn-whether on the battlefield or dropped in the kitchen. How do you know that a kid didn't damage it? For me, an award is an award despite the condition and all are special.

From those images I'd lean more towards a die error at the mint. Andreas, can you post images of the full medal front and back please when you get the time?
