Strange ribbon
What do you think about this ribbon?
Looks to be plastic... |

Yes it is, but the front part is plastic, the rear part is metallic, isn´t it?
Also the third medal(30 years of the Soviet armed forces)ribbon is wrong-it should have a gray and red one. Esteban |

Looks like a homemade enamel-on-metal mount that's been chipped up over the years. It would be really neat if the enamelling (or heavy paint???) was still there! The third medal should be a Vienna medal... It was either replaced by a collector/dealer or the vet lost it and replaced it himself.

Hi Forum Members,
I would be really interested in seeing more of these "plastic suspension" medals or bars. Do you have some, in the same style - or different - of the one I posted ? Please, post. Cheers. Ch. |

New one
Currently up on eBay. Starting bid is about $185?
Very interesting, custom suspension. The bar looks to be very well made. Maybe a well-to-do soldier? I've asked the seller for a better shot of the reverse as well.

Eric,
This is for sure a very well done one, and I think the first time I can see an Order (not only medals) included... Cheers. Ch. |
