very large collection of medals

So continuing on about my posting about the nevsky medal, I wanted to provide a photo of the large collection of Russian medals that are in the collection I am researching and potentially selling.

They are:
Defense of Stalingrad
Defense of Sevastopol
Defense of Odessa
Defense of Leningrad
Defense of Moscow
Defense of Kiev
Defense of the caucasus
Defense of Soviet Artic
Outstanding achievements in labor
Capture of Budapest
Capture of Konenigsberg
Capture of Vienna
Capture of Berlin
Liberation of Belgrade
Liberation of Prague
Distinguished Labor Medal
Labor veterans medal
Victory over Germany
Valiant Labor medal
Victory over Japan
Bravery medal (type 1)
Bravery medal (type 2)
Combat service (type 1)
Combat service (type 2)
Partisan medal 1st class
Partisan medal 2nd class

...and this isn't all of them either. I would say there are another 20 more different ones.

Re: very large collection of medals

Note that we do have a "marketplace" section here on the site. It has specific rules and such, which reading the FAQ and asking Art (the owener) can lay out. Auctions have been known to take place in there - totally manual affairs of course, along the lines of "Here's what I'm selling and the minimum, post bids here until 12:00 next Saturday, high bid gets it." While not having nearly the traffic of the various auction sites there's also no fees involved (once you donate to the site iirc).

So, if you can supply enough pics and other data to convince folks they're authentic, offer a money back guarantee and adequate examinatin period after they're bought, and you're not PM'ed to death with offers (yes, this is a warning! ) that you can't refuse before hand, consider selling them here at the premier site for Soviet awards. We have all the best people!

I plan on offering them for sale eventually, but I thought everyone would like to look at the collection as a whole.

Yes, very nice! Is there any paperwork with the collection? The various medals had "award documents" issued with them, and such docs can increase the value if paired up with the respective medal. Sometimes greatly.

Yes, sweet collection. If they are authentic the whole lot would easily bring over 1k.

Re: very large collection of medals

There is one medal with paperwork, but it is not in this picture (in fact I don't remember what it is exactly). I have always been interested in US, German and Japanese militaria, but after going through these medals I am starting to like the Russian stuff too! I am going to hate to see these go!

Well over. More like over $2,500.00.

Re: very large collection of medals

Mike,

This is potentially a nice collection, but you have to be very careful as quite a few of the items you show were/are commonly faked, especially:
Defense of Sevastopol
Defense of Odessa
Defense of Soviet Artic
Liberation of Belgrade
Partisan medal 1st class
Partisan medal 2nd class
Some of the other, common ones, are also faked, but it is of lesser importance
Post some good quality of these, so we can help you sorting things out.

I think you should add Bravery and CS medals on rectangular suspensions to this list.

Oh, and just the two Partisan medals should bring about $1K.
