The accuracy of the depiction of soviet/russian awards and uniforms in bond movies

I would like to know what this forum thinks about the accuracy of the depiction of soviet/russian awards and uniforms in bond movies. Im watching Octopussy on Spike right now and I'm wondering what forum thinks.

Octopussy and Living Daylights was quite OK, if you dont pause the movie and look closer. There are errors, indeed, but overall I think the uniforms look good!

Overall, they were not designed to look accurate, just good. If I remember correctly, the General's Jacket lapels peak out way too much. Also, the HSU is draped over the ribbon bar as the ribbon is probably 3x longer than normal.

The one starring Pierce Brosnan (I believe it was Goldeneye) seems to have an accurate general's uniform. Of course, it helped that the Soviet Union had fallen apart and actual uniforms and decorations were available.

Then again, that was a russian general which was supposed to have russian uniform. I believe the uniform was just soviet with a Russian patch.

I don't remember the title (was it "Diamonds are forever"?) - but the one with action taking place partly in Afghanistan most likely gave birth to all those KGB generals uniforms with blue piping.
Also a prison guard wears the belt in his pants, although it should be worn over a jacket. And the "Militery Policemen" wear the uniforms of Komendantura and unless I am mistaken they were only responsible for traffic regulation. Am I wrong?
In "Goldeneye" they all have soviet uniforms in stead of Russian which they should wear...

I don't agree 100% ... in the beginning of the movie, they wear Soviet uniforms which is correct as the beginning do take place in the USSR ... but later, don't they wear russian uniforms? Or am I completely out in the blue?

That was in Archangelsk, about 9 years before the rest of the plot, before the Soviet collapse. General Oumorov was only Colonel back then.

Later they still wear soviet with additional russian arm patch.
