Christophe,

That pic is not from the Mausoleum. If you look carefully, there are sign of sculptured leaves at the bottom of the order. There is no such ornament inside or outside the Mausoleum.

Are you sure this is inside the mausoleum?

I remember having a look at poor old Vlad in early 1993. He was still guarded then and the guards didn't exactly make you feel welcome. I don't remember seeing this though.

By the way, the guards are back on duty, and still make you feel that same way as before

They don't practice goose step in front of Lenin mausoleum anymore, but still do it in front of the monument to the unknown soldier, alongside the Kremlin walls.

Kind of surprised. At least in the front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, it looks like two FSB men in dress uniforms. Not sure though, the picture I'm referencing is from early 2000s.

Synthesis,

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Lenin Mausoleum are two different things, as you know. The first has now taken the place that the second had until the end of the Workers' Paradise.
