Apollo- Soyuz: Medals in space
Back in 1975, the first joint-mission in space was the rendevous of US and CCCP spacecraft.
To commemorate this historic moment in the exploration of space, several gifts exchanged between the crews. This medal, held by Soviet cosmonaut (and twice HSU) Alexei Leonov, was made from 2 parts - one was carried to space by the Soviet spacecraft "Souyuz" and the other by the "Apollo" spacecraft of the USA.
