Hi
If we look at official portraits of Soviet marshals of the USSR, we can see that if the Marshal CCCP is pictured with dress uniform or the 1945 victory parade uniform, we can identify Russian imperial awards, among awards from other countries. Do anyone have an idea about the regulations concerning display of imperial awards on Soviet uniforms? Do they have ribbons for the imperial awards, on the "fruit salad" (when the marshal used his everyday uniform)? |

Tal,
I've always seen them on the side opposite of Soviet awards. Take a look at this pic of Zukov..I can't recall seeing foreign awards on a Soviet service uniform.

Art,
There are many cases of foreign awards on soviet uniforms. Take a close look at Brezhnev's fruit salad or meany pictures in McDaniels book. The most common foreign award I saw was the Czec cross of WW2, and some awards from Yugoslavia. However, I can't recall any picture with ribbons for Imperial awards. Tal |
