Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star

Hello,

Today I have got a bad surprise with this latest Order of the Red Star I have purchased. Next time I definitely must wear my glasses and I shall dare to touch the medals like a maniac.... I should have noticed the repainted enamel in the upper point of the star. It's a really poor attempt to repair.

Well, I hope this is the only problem with my new ORS. It is numbered 1,434,259
and the S/N engraving does not look too professional...

As usual, I would appreciate your comments.

ciao.

Everything except the replaced enamel at 12 o'clock (which you've noticed) is good.

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star

I wouldn't call it a "bad" surprise. It just means you've got some of that wear of the years that so many awards have. It's still an honorable piece.

I agree. It could be an old repair to wartime damage. Making it rarer than some other awards. Nice one.

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star

I thank you all for the nice words of support. Indeed, I like this medal but as a "wanna-be" collector, I regret not having being able to immediately detect the problem with the enamel.
In fact I realized the defect only when back home.

Off the records, I could negotiate a cheaper price if I would have seen the repair before paying for the medal.....

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star

You learned a good lesson and it only cost 10 or 20 bucks. That's not bad. Many of us have paid dearly for our life lessons.

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star

Hello Guys,

what do you think about this one ? I know, there have been a lot of fakes of duplicates on the market recently, but this duplicate looks quite good in my opinion !?

Please tell me your thoughts..

Jens,

You need a big enlargement of the area below the screwpost. It seems that the surface has been messed with.
