Norm, you got greedy. From this altitude I don't like the look of your Soviet Polar regions. The ring looks too large, obverse lettering looks too crisp compared to an original, and wierd wear pattern.

Norm-aka (it's an Uzbek thing ) - I just don't know my Partisans, and only have one in myself. I was lucky at the time to have a highly experienced forum member with me when I got it some three years ago, but I normally just never got to handle enough of 'em to comment well.

Can you give us better shots of the Polar? I'm not so sure it's bad. I feel fine with the ring size from this high-altitude view, but it sure looks like the obverse got a short-term beating with some pliers or something that, combined with the wear in the center, make for that weird wear Paul may be talking about?

You were lucky on the 100-year Lenins. My own observations in region were that the military version was getting increasingly difficult to find - I bet I saw ten of the labor version for every military one by the time I mostly stopped looking last summer.

Nom-aka, worst case scenario with that DoPR is you got a nice, old two-piece suspension. Those things are drying up.

Master Po, you have taught Grasshopperov well. All those for $50CDN. The polar is damaged-esp near the ring and to the left of the ushanka. The "ZA" looks worn but isn't-the light makes it appear so.

As for the partisan, I just want to know if it is worth sending to Alexei.

Otherwise, I reckon I can trade it to Patrick for his uniforms if it is a fake.
