Would he have worn a dagger?

I now have the 1950's era Everyday and Parade uniform of a Major General of the Medical Service. Would a dagger have been worn with the Parade Uniform? I have absolutely no clue when it comes to Soviet Daggers.

That's what the regulation books are for

If you are just a bit more precise as to the time period (potentially 3 regulations were in force during the 50's), we'll be able to help.
