The Air Force is marked BO8175 3NK 58

Question I have is 3NK is that a manufacturers mark? And 47 and 58 would be year yes?

3NK IS the manufacturer. I forgot what is stands for though... Z-something I-something and then K-something...

I second Alexei with "завод имени калинина" and I believe it is the one now located in the city of Ekaterimburg.

The plant is over 140 years old and has been producing pretty much anything during its existence.

Machine-Building Plant named after M.I.Kalinin started its history in 1866,from thegun workshops in St-Petersburg,that consequently had grown into thestate-governed plant producing artillery guns for infantry,and later -for anti-air defence.In 1918 it was evaquated to Moscow suburb,and in1941 - to Sverdlovsk.Since late 50th it has been specialised in pro-duction of launchers and anti-air missiles.

In 1994 the plant was reorganized into joint-stock company.Initiated by the plant,the target program of designing and productionof new items - new diesel and electric forklift trucks,electric trol-leys etc.,- was launched and supported by the Russian Government.

The plant was the monopolist in production of the small-bulk1-ton forklifts and produced up to 7000 electric forklifts peryear.The use of double-destination technologies guarranteed high levelof quality and reliability for these forklifts.

The plant has all kinds of production facilities for machinery:


casting,including ferrous and non-ferrous casting;
die casting;
forming and welding;
thermoprocessing and electroplating;
all kinds of mechanical processing;
the laboratories and tooling of our own;



Nowdays the plant produces the 1.6 tons diesel truck of our owndesign, 3.0 tons auto truck and and electric trucks 1.25 and 1.6 tons.The diesel truck may useboth DEUTZ engine (Germany) or the Russian engine by VladimirskyTruck PLant.

The weight of forklifts is,as a rule,80-250kg less than that of the similar foreign-made machines,because of betterarrangement of components,mechanisms and counterweight on chassis.Thisfeature provides better use of forklifts in the areas with rest-ricted load on the floor,e.g.,railway wagons.Besides,the smaller we-ight reduces energy consumption.


The foreign-made forklifts similar to EP-1616 have,as a rule, thecapacity of 1.5 tons.The forklift EP-1616,having the capacity of 1.6tons with smaller own weight and the same dimensions,with optimal ope-rating speed (lifting,movement),has higher efficiency.

The plant started production of the 2-ton electric trolley of itsown design.


In 1995 the plant started production of the jib machine forcutting stown in quarries.The design of our own includes all the sugges-tions of the miners,the forced lubrication is introduced to increasethe life time.


The plant produces the label-pasting for application labels, contra-labels, labels onto the necks of bottles and Г-tax-strips for (in the time of ) the bottling of wine, beer and other beverages.

I also agree that it is Factory named after Kalinin. However, here is interesting information from the Factory Zlatoust.
