Red Stars to Uzbek

Two Red Stars #2.700.791 and #2.700.793 with research. Stars were awarded to S. Aitimbetov, an Uzbek rifle squad leader in the 265 Rifle Division. Research on #2.700.791 is included and indicates it is a "catch-up" award granted in OCT 45 for his actions early near Leningrad (Narva) in which as a squad leader he killed seven Germans in a trenchline for which he earned a battlefield promotion to sergeant. His squad was also one of the first to enter East Prussia. At the time of awarding post-war, he ran the unit's club movie projector. This citation was approved by the division commander, Hero of the Soviet Union GEN-MAJ Shulga. Research verifies Red Stars were awarded to the same recipient and the #2.700.793 is certainly another "catch up" award since it couldn't be for long service, or possibly for wounding since he received a wound 25.2.45. Also included is classified research for his CSM (missing). Interestingly he was from Karakalpakia (site of drying up Aral Sea), though inducted in Turkmenistan. The award card indicates he had an elementary education and is evident in that Aitimbetov couldn't get much past "Ait" in his signature.

Awards themselves are in extremely fine condition - no chips, minor wear from polishing, etc.

Interesting saga from Central Asia and rare occurrence of two awards' serial numbers so close for only $230 excluding postage. For additional $20 I can translate award documents ($45 value). I'm flexible on payment methods and terms, however I canNOT accept Paypal credit card or European IBAN bank transfers.

Thanks for looking!
