Researched For Valor Medal with Doc

This is a very nice and very clean researched 1982 awarded For Valor medal which was awarded to Sergeant Andrei Egorovich Yurtaiev. Sergeant Yurtaiev served in the Red army from September 1938 through September 1945. He served at Khalkhin Gol in 1939, and served from the start of the War in 1941 to victory day in 1945. In June 1942, he was serving as an anti-tank weapon squad leader with the 22nd Special Battalion and was seriously wounded in the chest which put him in hospital until August 1942. From August 1942, he served as a squad leader in combat until May 1945.

This For Valor medal was a catch up award to him, and he was nominated for it on 6 November 1980. It was finally approved on 26 November 1981 (one full year later!) and was awarded in February 1982.

The group includes his For Valor medal, his award book, and research to include his award card and citation with English translation. Both the award and the document are in beautiful condition with only minor honest wear soiling to the ribbon of the medal (in other words, he wore it.) The book is in perfect condition. I have priced the group to move as I have more invested in it than I am asking.
