Homeland 3rd Awarded to a Naval Officer

This Homeland 3rd Class is number 61031 was awarded to Colonel-Engineer (Navy Captain 1st Rank) Gonarchenko in 1983. He was awarded the order for developing and putting in place the aviation "complex" (e.g. everything aviation related from maintenance to launching) onboard the aircraft carrier Novorossiysk. The last line reads in summary: "For active participation in the development, testing and production of the heavy aircraft carrier Novorossiysk, deserves to be awarded the order "For Service to the Homeland in the Armed Forces" 3rd Class.

The award itself has a nice dark patina and has no blemishes that I can see. It includes three award cards, the officer's service history and the citation with English translation of the citation text. His service history is also interesting because he served as a Navy fighter pilot against the Japanese in the last days of WW2.
