Re: Book about Soviet City Medals in German
Very nice and very interesting. Is there any way, within forum mandates and regulations of course, to give us guidance on how to obtain the book?

Re: Book about Soviet City Medals in German
As I understand it, Alfred, you are the author of this book. It looks excellent! Congratulations. Hopefully you will offer it in the marketplace here (if you haven't already).

Re: Book about Soviet City Medals in German
My copy just arrived. Marvelous! Thank you, Andreas. It will happily find a place on the place on the shelf next to the "Red Bible".
I note that it is called "Sammler-Katalog Nr. 1". May I hope that there will be more??? |

Re: Book about Soviet City Medals in German
I was lucky enough to get a copy of this book from Andreas and it is very well done and is a great source of information. Not only does it deal with the topic of the variations of the city medals, but he goes into discussions about production methods, the suspension devices and even the ribbon bars which I have not seen any discussion about elsewhere. He does a superb job of describing and showing the eyelet variations in a proper magnification to get his point across as well as including weights and measurements.
I know he had a limited run of the book originally and it was in German but for those that do not speak German, they should push him to get an English copy out, it really would add to everyone's knowledge. I know I had a few doubts about some of the city medals and it put my fears to rest, especially with the eyelets. Well done Andreas! |
