Specifically, Army General (or General of the Army) ... similar ranks in the other arms of services in the Red Army would be "Chief Marshal of XXXX" ... |

I have here a (maybe) stupid question : I thought the term "Cavalier" was used only when one was awarded the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Classes of an order, i;e; the 3 classes of the Order. Is it correct ? Or can we say "Cavalier of the 2nd and 3rd Classes" (only), meaning that the term we see sometimes "Full Cavalier" relates to all the 3 classes ? Said differently : is it correct to say Cavalier for 2 classes only ? Just a question... Cheers. Ch. |

Christophe,
In Russian, someone awarded an order or a medal bears the title of "Cavalier of [order/medal]" Marc |

A Hero of Russia. And a former Pilot / Navigator... Can't tell which badge it is... Again like the previous portraits, he has recently been awarded the Medal for 60th Anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from the German Invaders.
