Lend-Lease Ships Book
Also from a local retired NSA agent... An excellent book entitled "Ships and Vessels of the Fleet of the USSR from Lend Lease" (or roughly that!) It's a comprehensive book that covers all LL ships, submarines and small boats that the British and US gave the Soviets during the War. It includes the "Arkhangelsk" (former British heavy cruiser Royal Sovereign - imagine the irony in them giving a ship with that name to the Soviets!) :) to submarines to destroyers, destroyer escorts, river patrol boats, down to landing craft!
In the civil realm, it covers hundreds of merchant ships, tugboats, ice breakers, etc... I'd estimate that there are probably 1500+ ships listed, which includes their former name and hull number (if they had one, some were made especially for the Soviets) their place of manufacture, wartime service, and then fate (lots of scrap metal!) Plus a lot of photos of the ships in Soviet service. A great book! If you can find a copy, and you're into Soviet Navy stuff, I'd highly recommend it. It was written by S.S. Berezhnoi, published by "Velen" in Saint-Petersburg, 1994.
