Has anyone read the book 'Soviet Medals & Badges by Phil Bartel, Ivan Karnes'. What did you think of it? Is it any good?

Shane,

I have it. B/W photos and a lot of mistakes in the identification of the badges. It was published in 1998, when they didn't have access to more accurate information. Maybe not totally worthless, but can only be used as a cheap ($10.95) reference for a beginner.

I agree with Alexei.

I bought this book last year from one of the authors (paid around $10) and I consider it a waste of money. Quality is poor and you are not getting any new info on awards.
